This was the original page content for the love me some Wilmy project.

That page has since been updated with the most recent information.

I love Wilmington.
Like, love it.

It became my go-to coastal retreat in college.

Gah…I can still remember calling my roommate from a gas station pay phone to “check-in,” and tell her I was totally fine on my own doing my thing. Would you believe me if I told you she didn’t sound totally convinced…

By the way, I passed that pay phone – IT’S STILL THERE – one of the last times I was in the city (just last month, y’all).

I heart that city hard.
And, oh…the stories I could tell.

And did I tell you that I was recently in the running for a job in the Port City?
Yea. I was really excited. It wasn’t meant to be, but it still makes my heart flutter to think about it.

Enter Florence

But here I am…on this side of Florence, in the position to work with different businesses who are working on plans to give back to the areas – to the people and animals – impacted by the hurricane’s damage.

And I am so, so thankful for this opportunity.

And because, I too am a business that wants to help out, even if in just a small way, I created the “love me some Wilmy” design.

Part of my effort in the last few days has been researching local organizations based in Eastern NC who have a history of positively investing in the areas most in need of help. That way the collaborative effort of good-intentioned business leaders would make the most impact.

I’ve decided to make my donation from the sales of “love me some Wilmy” stickers and magnets to Feast Down East. They’re currently raising money that will positively impact local area farmers – and those in need of good, healthy food. You can learn more on their Facebook Donate page.

So, yea. You can totally just donate to them.Or, you can buy a “love me some Wilmy” sticker or magnet, and know that 50% of the sale will be donated on the other side.
